TestimonyforToday: I am easily offended. And when someone is being deliberately jerky and unpleasant my offended self gets REALLY riled up.
As I have prayed and asked God to make me better, He has shown me that this isn’t some personality flaw-I really am wrestling with a spirit (Ephesians 6:12). My fight is NOT TRYING TO CHANGE who I am, but in staying Spirit-minded and allowing God to fight on my behalf–like Jesus who gave the wrongs He suffered to God . (I Peter 2:23)
We all have troubles in life-some are external and easily identified, judged, and fixed (like lying, cheating, stealing, being promiscuous or doing drugs). But the ones that we all need to focus in on are the hidden spiritual issues that keep us from victory on earth. 1 John 2:6 says that loving the world produces these three: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life. Once we succumb to these fleshy issues, we come into agreement with the demonic plans that are set for our lives when we do not walk in the will of God.
That’s what the word of God does for us: splitting the spirit and soul so that you can walk in the spirit and get your soul (personality, will, feelings) in line with what God desires. (Hebrews 4:12). That’s why I admonish you daily to read the word of God—even the parts that you don’t understand.
As I move forward in my faith, I want to encourage someone else who may have a hidden spiritual struggle. Even if it isn’t you, stand in agreement with me on behalf of your loved ones.
I am praying right now that God reveals the hidden places of your heart to you; that He guides you to the Word you need for that issue; that in your weakness, His grace be sufficient for you; and that you are able to walk in the fruit of His Spirit.
