“Get wisdom, get understanding: Forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: Love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: And with all thy getting get understanding.”
Proverbs 4:5-7 KJV
Wisdom isn’t a gift of old age; it is a gift from God that anyone willing to receive can have.
Just as many old people are walking around without understanding as are young.
Just as many old people are fools as are young.
Just as many old people are immature as are young.
Just as many old believers are still babies in the word as are young.
Experience SHOULD teach you. But there’s a reason why the adage says an old dog can’t hardly be taught new tricks. The older you get, the harder it is to go back and fix the broken pieces. The older you get without wisdom, the harder it is to do what it takes to seek after it and obtain it.
Don’t be tricked! Out of all the things you’re asking God to give you? Ask God to give you wisdom and understanding. God NEVER turns down such a request. Never.
More important to anything and all the things? God’s wisdom is better than all the wisdom of the world or your experience. His seat looking down low at all things at the same time means that when His wisdom comes it guarantees the right road, the right reasons, the right revelation, the Righteousness of Christ. So even if you don’t have what we call “common sense” or “good sense”, or if you don’t have the much experience in life? Get wisdom from the Lord. Position yourself so that the Spirit of the Lord rests upon you.
