I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
Psalm 139:14
I spent a bit of time in life trying to fit in only to recognize I was destined to be different—Then I swung in the other direction and dug in tooooo deep trying to stand out in response to rejection🤦🏾♀️.
We gone thank God for the balance of a sound mind, m’kay? Rooted and grounded in Christ, aht? Cuz now? I’m just being the me God created me to be.
“Fearfully made” means that God looked at me and said, “I Done OUTDID MYSELF this round. I will make sure she knows it, too. Ayyyyyye, the GLORY I’m Finna Get Out Of THIS UN HENH!” Because that fearfully simply means God had a specific purpose in mind when God shaped you, a reason behind every characteristic HE gave you.
When the Bible instructs us that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,” that same fear—reverential awe due to God—is embedded in our making. The layers excite and inspire because:
- Knowing God means that you know you from the perspective of the Creator rather than comparison to other creations.
- God created you with Himself embedded, which means that you have an infinite and eternal source of being.
- The beginning of wisdom that comes from yi’rah brings with it corrective discipline that hones in and clarifies your purpose in Him.
The word says that we are many members of the SAME BODY, no part any less important than the rest with Christ as our head. Equal importance with individual functions that make the unit operate at optional capacity. Don’t let the enemy make your uniqueness a PROBLEM. He only trying to make it a problem for you because he allowed his uniqueness to go to his head and takeover! We bless the CREATOR, and not ourselves. Our very being—unique, made with great Godself interest, set apart, well crafted…who we are in CHRIST brings God great glory and edifies the people around us. God takes delight in you pursuing with positive purpose the person He knew before you were formed in your mother’s belly.
BUT PLEASE NOTE THAT I SAID IN CHRIST! Let us NOT attempt to bulldog our way into ourselves, into the fearfully and wonderfully made totality of God in us. What the psalmist says—and that my soul knoweth right well—is the complete acknowledgement that what is marvelous is the work of GOD’S hand, not our own. What we do of our own accord can seem wonderful, can appear marvelous but the end thereof? It is destruction. The fleeting gain of earthly recognition and validation at the price of eternal life in Christ.
Anyway, please note: I pray for you that you be all that God created you to be in this life as He designed it for you. I pray that you recognize that GOD IS, and that it is who you become in HIS HANDS that will be forever marvelous. BE THE GIFT TO GOD’S FAMILY that you were formed to be.
AND LET THAT BE THE REASON.
