Stability

Stability

“A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.”‬‬

Proverbs‬ ‭25:28‬ ‭NLT

In my (recent) past, the people whom I loved most would send me into a tizzy of distress and despair. Whatever emotional state they were in? Tuh. They took me through, okay? Last year in January, I prayed for deliverance. For God to help me conquer that spirit of always being plundered. And God said, “Stop going around the same mountain! Get thee north!”

Like me, if you don’t understand why you never level out of where you are. I have a word for you: stability.

Everything around you is unstable because YOU become unstable with everything. Everybody takes you on emotional rollercoasters. Everything that’s not exactly like what you think it should be derails your whole mood. Every trial or challenge sends you into a tailspin of depression. You are not planted, let alone rooted and grounded. You just sail the winds of wherever your feelings toss you. Even the feelings of the people in your life.

See, each time somebody would drag me into their craziness, I’d go cry and pray and wage war in the spirit…while they sat back and basked in the relief of my fight! I took on their battles and they dropped their load on me. I had to pray and ask God what I was doing wrong, why I was so tired and defeated, why nothing in my life was working. And the Lord showed me where I had put my nose in business that wasn’t mine because I was allowing myself to be plundered by emotional vampires. So I had to get that mess off me. Until I got to this point where I don’t even ENGAGE. Now I apologize for causing them distress and MOVE ON AND AWAY. I will literally stop talking to folks, because I don’t want to be an emotional support puppy. I can only take on so much before another person’s problem becomes my personal problem. It has been an eye opening experience to work to live above other people’s turmoil, fam.

Stop traveling around that same mountain with folks! Sometimes, the drama and turmoil you’re in ain’t even yourns!

GET THEE NORTH, fam! Get settled into yourself and begin to live above the fray. The word says that we supposed to look to the hills from whence cometh our help cuz our HELP comes from the Lord. Build up your boundaries and cut the noise so you can hear clearly what the spirit of the Lord is saying. LOOK UP! Amen? Amen.
