“Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity, and the rod of his fury will fail.”
Proverbs 22:8
So this kid acted an ENTIRE fool one day when escorted into my lunch detention setting. As he ranted and raved, I quietly explained to him that everyone gets ONE WARNING; after that, I’d add on extra days for disrupting my environment. He continued to put on a show for his stone silent, exceedingly meek classmates who came in and sat in silence.
Okay fam. 🤷🏾♀️ Game. On.
I KNEW he was gonna forget. Then we had a whole snow day—and I rubbed my hands together like a cartoon villain. Fast forward 3 days, and GASP! He didn’t EVEN DO ANYTHING TO DESERVE LOSING HIS RECESS!!! This sucks! THIS IS NOT FAIR!!! I told him once again: You get one warning, then I add days. So now he owes me 3 more days on top of the two he already had.
My point? Jesus died on the cross so that we can be free from the penalty of sin (eternal death). However, the CONSEQUENCES of sin still apply—and your furious disagreement with the weight of that doesn’t keep the consequence from being applied.
Part of building faith is KNOWING THIS: don’t be tricked. You can’t get passed God’s justice. You will REAP what you SOW (Galatians 6:7 NLT). When you sow a seed, the plant then fruit is WAYYYYYYY bigger than the original seed.
Part of building faith is KNOWING THIS: the judgment is already written, it is already the recorded word of God. God isn’t sitting around making decisions about your punishment like a reactive parent. Jesus stated in John 12:48 that the words He spoke would judge folks. And so understand that the wages don’t change. The consequences don’t change. The expectation has been spoken and thus cannot return void.
Utilize the Holy Ghost power to live free from sin today so that you don’t reap consequences far greater than the original offense. Repent, and allow the Spirit of God to lead you out of a life fleshly earned wages. Choose the earnings of the Cross and our King instead.
Amen? Amen!
