Information. Revelation. Transformation.

Myles Monroe once said: “The word brings revelation but the Holy Spirit brings transformation.”

There are a lot of well informed people on their way to hell—or at the very least not living in the fullness of God’s Grace in the land of the living. They KNOW the word, but have never been transformed. Transformed means you BECOME what the word says you ought to be. And Jesus said, “If you love me? KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS” (John 14:15-31). What does that mean? Obey the word. Not just know it.

I listened to a wonderful message yesterday, where a Bishop went back into the words of Jesus and told you exactly what to do to get delivered from certain moments of temptation. And I promise you everybody shouted him down. But right after that? I watched two or three people immediately fail the very test the man of God gave them instructions for. 🤦🏾‍♀️ In James the first chapter the author has this to say about that phenomenon:

“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.”

James‬ ‭1:22-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The mirror… it’s for checking and adjusting.

We could say many things about many things regarding the persistence of sin and the grace that abides for us and all that but this ain’t that. This is YOU being intentional through obedience through the Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus by the grace of God.

Which are you living in? Information is good. Revelation is wonderful and necessary. Transformation is the goal. I pray that your eyes of understanding be opened always. But Transformation? That’s KINGDOM.
