Rattled

This poem is one I wrote a while ago. I’ll let you assign meaning as you please this time. 😂 I remembered it while I was checking out Sammi Cox and the new writing challenge on sibilance. Of course, my word count is hot garbage. Of course, I still love the poem.

Enjoy.

“Rattled”

Beware the snake
That shakes its tail
Distracting you
With lullabies

That soothe the mind
But expose nerve
Be cautious when
It speaks to you

Voice honey filled
The poison hid
In words too sweet
To be the truth

Lips smiling wide
Fangs close behind
The hiss and bite
The death to you

Silence then they
Slither away
