Cuz it’s another writing challenge and who am I to eschew opportunity to grow? This is a dodoitsu, a Japanese form that follows the pattern of 4 lines with 7 syllables in the first three lines then 5 in the last line. The poem’s theme is usually either work or love.
Idk why this challenge lent itself to this form, but the love thing fell right into place. Most times, I strive with poems. This one kind of slipped out with just the right theme, thought, and boundaries first time out. Go figure.

“Love & Marriage”
sparrows span the vast stillness
eyes silent no hope as we kiss
then face pulpit whispering
love gave no road map
