Listen. Folks do NOT like being held accountable.
But in 2022? We not finna just “do you” all over folks’ BOUNDARIES. I’ve been NOT telling the truth along with the love I already show. What do I mean? I mean to say that I I have used love as an excuse to allow folks to act however they feel like, enabling them to just be STRONG and WRONG OUTCHEA IN THESE HOLY GHOST STREETS. I’ve been “loving” to the point of NOT HOLDING FOLKS ACCOUNTABLE. 😐
I believe we call that enabling fools to be foolishness.
THAT stops today. My respect and honor is tied to you being RESPECTABLE AND HONORABLE, and me experiencing you that way. Which means folks cannot be outchea with the defenses and excuses when they get out of pocket while expecting everybody else to act sane and sensible.
The LIES.
Holiness—INTEGRITY—means accountable.
God said:
I swear by my own self.

I am not a man; I cannot lie. (Numbers 23:19; Titus 1:2; Hebrews 6:18)
I’m perfecting you til the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:16)
I’m faithful to perform the good work I began in you. (Psalm 33:4; Psalm 91:4; Lamentations 3:23) Philippians 1:6; 1 John 1:7-10)
My Word never returns void. (Isaiah 40:8; Isaiah 45:23; Isaiah 55:11; Matthew 24:35)
That’s just to name a FEW…
See, to be accountable is to be who you be in season and out of season, to stand by your word. God’s word stands forever, and God does nothing contrary to His word. If it be spoken or written or both at the same time? God’s word prevails. In our case as believers? We are to stand by GOD’S Word. And standing by God’s word means that we love each other; part of that being, “tell the truth in love.”
What is truth in love?
First truth. God says that we are to worship Him in spirit and in truth. Truth means JESUS. Spirit and in JESUS. So, now you gotta start taking into account WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? WELL. You ain’t go to wonder: you can find out WHAT HE DID DO. Here’s a couple excerpts:
“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
Acts 10:38 KJV
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
Philippians 2:5-8 KJV
Then love. Understand that Jesus did everything for the glorification of the Father. And what truly glorifies the Father? Love. See, God’s love is demonstrative towards us, and Jesus Christ is the manifest expression of that love, His sacrifice paying the debt for sin that we could NEVER. That said, understand that our mandate as believers and followers is to love. Love looks like sacrifice for the glorification of the Father. Extending grace, covering a multiple of sin, praying for each other, bearing each other burdens, being merciful. Love is selfless.
But it isn’t just the “I’m going to give to you til I falter.” Nah. It is also the sacrifice of self.
Self: the need for approval, the need to not be rejected, the need to keep false peace, the need to keep people happy, the need to be seen, the need to be acknowledged, the need to be known. The need. The need. The need. The need for perfect reciprocity from every single person to whom you have gone to love.
So you can dance, twist, shout, complain, explain, even call me insane—SPEAK IN THEM RELIGIOUS TONGUES, too—I am telling the truth in love regardless, speaking healing over your mind and soul, and walking away. You was gonna figure out a way to have hurt feelings anyway. Minuswell be me and not somebody else. ✌🏾 You won’t reap what you haven’t sown over here anymore except the love of Christ. And while I ain’t cutting folks for no reason (cuz that’s a convo I had in a video one time), Issa “let em know so they can grow or let me go” kinda year for me.
This year is the year of learning to enforce boundaries fast and furiously, without the heaviness of people pleasing binding me. To walk in God’s truth is heavy enough without the weight of unrealistic expectations from people. In this shedding of people and their baggage, I shed my own and learn to love them correctly because God is teaching me to love Him and thus myself from His love.
